About
I hold a PhD in International Psychology, a Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. In addition to my professional background in psychology and mental health, I have approximately 6–10 years of experience in educational, training, and learning environments.
A significant portion of my experience comes from Royal Learning Center in Los Angeles, where I served in leadership and mental health consulting roles. I worked closely with children, families, teachers, and staff, supported children’s educational and behavioral development, trained and guided staff, and helped create an environment where children could develop socially, emotionally, and academically. My experience also includes teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to adults, facilitating educational and behavioral classes for youth, leading group sessions, and providing training and presentations in professional settings.
My background in psychology greatly influences my teaching style. I understand that students have different personalities, learning styles, cultures, strengths, and levels of confidence. Because of this, I do not believe learning should feel rigid or intimidating. My teaching style is interactive, encouraging, relatable, and fun. I want students to feel comfortable being themselves, asking questions, participating in discussions, and even making mistakes because mistakes are part of learning.
I especially enjoy using real-life examples, conversation, activities, and critical-thinking questions to make lessons easier to understand and remember. Building relationships with my students is important to me because when students feel respected, heard, and comfortable with their instructor, they are often more willing to participate and challenge themselves.
My ideal students are learners who want to grow, regardless of their starting skill level. I am comfortable working with students who may need additional encouragement as well as students who are ready for greater challenges. I can offer them patience, structure, encouragement, cultural awareness, and an engaging learning environment. My goal is not simply for students to complete a lesson; I want them to understand what they are learning, feel confident participating, and be able to apply that knowledge beyond the classroom.
