About
Hello and pleased to be here! My name is Erica Reichlin and I am currently the owner of a little brunch place in Amityville, New York called, "Cornucopia's Noshery, Inc." We have been established for over 15 years. I do not come with a teaching certificate, but I am hoping that my years as a French trained culinary chef with an Associates Degree and a Food Handlers Certificate will be suffice! My true passion is catering, with attention to detail, passed or plated. My culinary life started in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in San Francisco and working with some of the city's best caterers like Global, Mona's Home Made and Absinthe. Once back in NYC, I was executive chef for craft service in places like Clementine and Starlight for well known fashion, movie & magazine shoots. From there, I moved back to Long Island working for a few restaurants so I decided to open up my own and the rest is history! What I can bring to students is the idea that anyone can cook with a few proper skill sets. 1st being knife skills. 2nd, have all your mise en place (everything in place) so our time is used properly, as well as working safe and clean. After that would be foundation; sauces, bread, proteins, and once we get into a grove, full dining, grazing boards, international foods, holiday foods, vegan as well as gluten free. Most of my menu can be executed in less than one hour and one does not have to spend a fortune on dining at home. Once I become established on the Rebel platform, I would even be open to student suggestions!
