About

I've been a teacher for over 27 years; in Europe and in California. I've taught English, ESL, composition, literature, study skills, grammar, vocabulary, history and test taking strategies for the SAT and ACT. I've also taught theatre, primarily acting, but also coaching, how to prepare for a performance, how to study a script, memorize lines, casting, directing and producing. These are my strengths. I've primarily worked with young adults and adults, but I do have experience with elementary aged students as well. My methods are to find ways to get the student to identify their strengths and weaknesses and help the student develop the weaknesses into strengths, using critical analysis of their own work and analyzing other resources, whether it be a book, or other students' work.
